Olyana Magic Plaster, Inc. Founder, Aleksey Syrnichenko, was first introduced to homeowners in the historical neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio through the Cleveland Restoration Society. Aleksey and the Olyana Magic Plaster team began the pictured restoration when homeowners looking to restore the grandeur of the dining room in their Victorian mansion were turned away from a previous crew due to the complexity of the project.
One of the owners’ requests was to have the crew recreate an original frieze panel and line the room with the new panels. Aleksey knew the frieze contained details that were much too small to capture in standard molding plaster. The Olyana Magic Plaster team looked for a material solution to make this vision come to life.
Aleksey decided to reach out to Reynolds-Detroit for help. The crew first needed to create molds from the original plaster pieces. They chose to use Mold Max™ 30 tin silicone rubber for the job because of its ability to easily be thickened and brushed on to vertical surfaces. Aleksey then used Smooth-Cast™ 321 urethane resin to pour the new panels. The team followed the same process for recreating other fine details like tiny stars that once embellished the ceiling.
The Reynolds-Detroit team was able to lead Aleksey in the right direction, helping to bring his and the homeowner’s final vision to life. The quality of artistry achieved by Olyana Magic Plaster truly went above and beyond the homeowner’s expectations.
